Painter and Decorator

Mr. Painter Ltd needs experienced Painters and Decorators to paint new and existing dwellings and commercial buildings.

Job Description of Painter and Decorator:

• Erect scaffolding and ladders, place drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint and wallpaper glue splattering

• Prepare surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fix woodwork, fill holes and cracks, remove dust and debris, smooth and seal surfaces
• Apply masking material over surfaces which are not to be painted

• Select and prepare paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, thinning and drying additives

• Apply paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays

• Work in a team selected by the Employer

• Clean equipment and work areas

• When necessary, supervise less experienced employees.

Minimum 3 years experience as a painter.

Permanent position

Minimum 40 hours per week

38 hours guaranteed per week

Rate of pay - $30 - $35 per hour, for normal hours plus overtime.
