This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.

The remuneration range for this role is $101,125 to $142,765 p.a. (including KiwiSaver), depending on skills and experience.

The opportunity

As our Senior Maintenance Planner, you'll play a key role in ensuring the Wellington region's three waters infrastructure remains safe, reliable and resilient. You'll lead the development of preventative and predictive maintenance programmes, leverage data to drive decision-making, and help optimise long-term network performance. Working closely with operational, asset management and planning teams, you'll influence maintenance strategies that deliver value for our communities now and into the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance programmes for network assets
  • Analyse asset performance data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Lead enhancements to maintenance planning processes, systems and work programmes
  • Mentor and support Maintenance Planners to build capability and planning excellence
  • Provide technical advice on infrastructure planning and asset management practices

About You

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Diploma or degree qualification in Engineering or a relevant trade qualification
  • Full NZ Class 1 Driver Licence
  • Solid experience in maintenance planning, asset management or infrastructure operations
  • Strong capability using maintenance management systems and data analytics tools
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder relationship skills

Wellington Water Ltd is the professional water services provider across Greater Wellington and South Wairarapa. Our job is to provide safe and healthy drinking water, collect and treat wastewater, and ensure the stormwater network is well managed. We’re a multi-council owned entity, tasked to manage the infrastructure and deliver water services to our communities. From 1 July 2026, a new chapter in water services begins. Tiaki Wai will take over responsibility for providing Three Waters Services to approximately 433,000 residents across the Wellington metro regions.

Tiaki Wai will own the water assets it operates giving it greater independence to manage and improve water services for current and future communities, Wellington Water employees will transition into this new council-owned entity.
