Care to make a difference

Join a team of good people doing good work with intent. People like you, who care to make a difference.

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a person with a background in physics or engineering. You have a passion for research, an attention to detail and the tenacity to follow a project to its end. But as much as you do the work to satisfy your intellectual curiosity, the impact of the work is even more important. You bring positive energy and a sense of fun to any team you work in, and good collaboration is important to you. In this role, you will interact with a wide range of people across the company, and it is important you can distil and communicate complicated ideas to varied audiences. Day to day work in the role is primarily a mix of lab experiments on respiratory simulation, data analysis, mathematical modelling and computer simulation, CAD and rapid prototyping, and the documentation of your work. The technical and collaborative aspects of the role will come together in the work to discover new opportunities for F&P Healthcare.

The Infant Care Research team works in the exciting space between clinical research and product development. We develop ideas for future medical devices that will improve respiratory care. To test these ideas and to support clinical and product teams at Fisher and Paykel Healthcare, we conceive and build state of the art experiments in respiratory simulation. While our focus is respiratory care within the infant population, our work has applications across F&P Healthcare.

About You

We are interested in a range of skills and experience including:

  • An undergraduate or post-graduate degree in an engineering discipline or physics.
  • University or industry-based research, publication writing and experience presenting your research at conferences or meetings.
  • Professional experience in an industrial setting.
  • Data analysis, model fitting, signal analysis and numerical modelling in Matlab or Python.
  • CFD and FEA in Ansys or similar.
  • CAD in SolidWorks or similar.
  • Anatomy and physiology

F&P provides a fun and supportive work environment with an emphasis on work-life balance. Infant Care is a growing department where we pride ourselves on making the finest products to address the needs of neonates, infants, and everyone else involved in caring for this challenging and vulnerable patient group. With all our R&D done onsite and industry-leading technology at your fingertips, you will have all you need to make your mark and create meaningful products.

Join our team and help us to create better respiratory care for patients around the world.
