- Training and exercise development, coordination, facilitation, and delivery.
- Building and maintaining partnerships and relationships across a wide range of individuals, stakeholders, and organisations.
- Developing and facilitating projects, initiatives, and response at operational and strategic levels.
- Operational Emergency Management planning, readiness and response activities.
Mō te tangata | About you
- Experience with training adults.
- Group facilitation experience.
- Operational leadership experience in an emergency situations.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral with excellent attention to detail.
Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience
- Qualification in adult teaching
- Completed the Integrated Training Framework (ITF):
- Foundational
- Intermediate
- Full NZ Drivers Licence

- The Waikato Civil Defence Emergency Management (CDEM) Group comprises a consortium of 11 local authorities, emergency services, lifelines utilities, welfare organisations, government departments, and non-government organisations operating in the central area of New Zealand’s North Island, referred to as the Waikato region.
- The organisation responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Waikato CDEM Group is the Group Emergency Management Office (GEMO). This office operates under a work programme developed by a representative group of local authority executives. The GEMO is administered by the Waikato Regional Council.
