Project Manager

ConsultANZ is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a leading civil contractor delivering major earthworks and infrastructure projects in New Zealand. This role is based in the Waihi Beach/ Tauranga region and offers the opportunity to lead technically challenging projects with a strong long-term pipeline of works.

• Permanent full-time role
• Attractive Salary ($160K - $190K NZD + vehicle) depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of project delivery from planning through to completion.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Drive project programs to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
• Oversee bulk earthworks operations in challenging ground and weather conditions.
• Manage plant productivity, sequencing, and earthmoving methodologies.
• Monitor project performance, costs, risks, and reporting requirements.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high-quality project outcomes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering large-scale civil earthworks projects.
• Strong technical understanding of bulk earthworks and heavy machinery operations.
• Experience working with excavators, dozers, articulated dump trucks, and similar plant.
• Ability to manage projects in difficult ground conditions and demanding environments.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of project programming, commercial management, and subcontractor coordination.
• Civil Engineering qualification or similar highly regarded.
