Role description

SPD has an urgent requirement for two experienced professionals to support the planning and delivery of an onshore well in New Zealand. Both roles are 4–5 month contracts with an immediate start, paid at a competitive NZD day rate.

Drilling Superintendent – Senior Leadership Role

  • Lead all drilling operations and HSE
  • Chair pre-spud meetings and programme reviews
  • Manage contractors, logistics and budget
  • Authorise programme modifications

Senior Drilling Engineer – Technical Lead Role

  • Full drilling programme preparation and AFE
  • Daily operational support and DDR review
  • Well analysis and learning register management
  • DCMS revisions and contract administration

Qualifications

Drilling Superintendent

  • 5+ years as a Drilling Superintendent
  • Proven onshore / land rig experience
  • Contractor management and HSE leadership

Senior Drilling Engineer

  • 8+ years' drilling engineering experience, including 5+ years as a Senior Drilling Engineer
  • Onshore well design and planning experience

Both roles

  • Must have the right to work in New Zealand - DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU MEET THIS REQUIREMENT.
  • IWCF Well Control certification required
  • Graduate degree in engineering or earth sciences
