About The Role
As a Project Engineer - Pavements, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering pavement projects from inception through to completion. Working closely with operational teams, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional who enjoys being hands-on, driving project performance, and contributing to the delivery of critical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage pavement construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects across various transport infrastructure assets.
Develop project plans, methodologies, and construction programmes.
Monitor project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
Coordinate resources, subcontractors, suppliers, and plant requirements.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Review project specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
Identify and mitigate project risks and opportunities.
Prepare project reporting, progress updates, and client communications.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and delivery teams.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and innovative engineering solutions.
About You
A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
Previous experience in pavement construction, road maintenance, or civil infrastructure projects.
Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and delivery outcomes.
Knowledge of NZTA/Waka Kotahi standards and specifications would be advantageous
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A proactive approach with a commitment to safety and quality
