About The Role
We are seeking experienced Machine Operators for two key production areas within a leading flexible packaging manufacturer based in Hornby. Opportunities are available in both the Print Department and Slitting Department, working on a rotating shift pattern across day, afternoon and night shifts.
You'll join a high-performing team focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Whether assisting qualified printers or operating slitting machinery, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality packaging products to customers.
Duties Include
Print Assistant
- Assist with the setup and operation of flexographic printing presses
- Relocate printing inks, cores, and production materials
- Support printers with changeovers and production runs
- Monitor product quality and identify defects
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area
Print Assistant Rotating Shift Pattern
- Week 1: Day Shift | Monday to Friday | 6:00am - 2:00pm
- Week 2: Afternoon Shift | Monday to Friday | 2:00pm - 10:00pm
- Week 3: Night Shift | Sunday to Thursday | 10:00pm - 6:00am
- Total standard hours: 40 per week
- Pay: $26.28 per hour plus a daily shift allowance of $18.99
Slitter Operator
- Setup, monitor and operate slitting machinery
- Complete production runs to quality and specification requirements
- Perform accurate production and quality checks
- Wrap, label and stack finished products
- Record downtime, waste, and production data accurately
Slitter Operator Rotating Shift Pattern
- Week 1: Day Shift | Monday to Friday | 5:50am - 2:00pm
- Week 2: Afternoon Shift | Monday to Friday | 1:50pm - 10:00pm
- Week 3: Night Shift | Sunday to Thursday | 9:50pm - 6:00am
- Total standard hours: 41 per week
- Pay: $26.28 per hour plus a daily shift allowance of $18.99
Skills & Experience
- Previous machine operating experience preferred
- Manufacturing or production experience highly regarded
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Reliable transport and strong attendance record
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must have valid NZ working rights
