We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cook to join our team at ESS RNZAF Whenuapai. This permanent part-time role offers 20 guaranteed hours per week within a professional Defence site environment.

This is more than just a cooking role. Every meal you prepare helps support New Zealand Defence personnel, ensuring they receive quality food and service every day. Ko o Kawenga / Your Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, present and serve quality meals to a high standard
• Assist with the preparation of fresh ingredients including vegetables, meat, seafood and poultry
• Ensure meals are consistently well presented and portioned correctly
• Receive, store and rotate stock in accordance with food safety requirements
• Help minimise waste through effective stock and portion control practices
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment at all times
• Support your team to deliver an outstanding dining experience every day

You take pride in producing great food and enjoy being part of a hardworking team. You understand the importance of food safety, have a positive attitude, and are committed to delivering quality every day.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

• Previous cooking experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment
• Sound knowledge of food safety, food hygiene and safe food handling practices
• The ability to remain organised and perform well in a busy environment
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
• A reliable, flexible and positive work ethic
• A commitment to maintaining high health, safety and food safety standards
• The ability to pass Police Vetting and MD390 Security Clearance requirements
