What will you do?

We are on the lookout for a Christchurch based

Interior Designer to join us on a 12 month fixed term basis to lead the delivery of interior design projects across Ryman's development, refurbishment, and existing village portfolio. Working closely with internal teams, external consultants, suppliers, and contractors, you'll create practical, well-considered, and commercially appropriate design outcomes that enhance the experience of our residents.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the interior design delivery of allocated projects from briefing and concept design through to documentation and completion.
  • Developing and coordinating interior layouts, finishes, materials, joinery, furniture and FF&E in accordance with project requirements and Ryman standards.
  • Colloborating with project teams, consultants and stakeholders to ensure designs are coordinated, practical and appropriate for operational and resident needs.
  • Delivering design solutions within agreed project budgets and programmes, balancing design quality, functionality and commercial requirements.
  • Reviewing design information, samples and substitutions, and provide interior design input throughout project delivery and construction as required.

Who are you?

  • You have proven experience delivering interior design projects ideally across retirement living, aged care, healthcare, hospitality, residential, or complex commercial environments.
  • You are an experienced Interior Designer with strong project delivery skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have experience developing and coordinating interior layouts, finishes, materials, joinery, furniture, and FF&E packages.
  • You have proven experience coordinating and managing consultants, suppliers, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  • You have a strong understanding of interior design documentation, specifications, materials, finishes, and design standards.
  • You have strong commercial awareness and can balance design quality, functionality, programme requirements, and budgets.
