Mahi ka whai ake " What you'll do:

  • Whakawhiwhi kai me te kawhe reka! Take food and beverage orders and serve delicious kai and drinks to our manuhiri
  • Manaaki manuhiri! Create a warm, welcoming environment and provide exceptional customer service
  • Whakarite ota! Assist with bookings, customer enquiries, and point-of-sale transactions
  • Noho mā, noho pai! Maintain high standards of cleanliness across kitchen, dining, retail, and customer areas
  • Mahi ngātahi! Work alongside your team to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Tautoko toa hokohoko! Support retail sales, stock management, merchandising, and cash handling
  • Tuku ringa āwhina! Assist with dishwashing, food preparation, stock deliveries, rubbish management, and housekeeping duties
  • Tiakina te taiao! Promote sustainability initiatives and encourage visitors to uphold the Tiaki Promise
  • Whakapiki mātauranga! Learn about Ngāi Tahu culture, values, and te reo Māori while contributing to meaningful visitor experiences

Ko wai koe? | What we're looking for:

  • A positive personality and genuine passion for customer service
  • Experience in a café, restaurant, hospitality, retail, or customer-facing role
  • Confidence using POS systems and handling payments
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Great time management and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment and adapting to changing priorities
  • Willingness to pitch in wherever needed and support the wider team
  • A commitment to health, safety, and maintaining high standards
  • An eagerness to learn about Ngāi Tahu values, tikanga, and te reo Māori

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Barista experience
  • A Duty Manager Certificate
  • Retail sales experience
