About The Role

Looking for a change of scenery? Keen to put your Line Mechanic skills to good use while enjoying everything Northland has to offer?

We're looking for an experienced Distribution Line Mechanic to join our Whangārei team. This is a full-time, permanent role working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with participation in our standby and callout roster when required. Minimum guaranteed hours are 30 per week.

Pay rate: $38.00 - $42.50 per hour

This is a hands-on role where you'll be out on the network building, maintaining, and repairing overhead lines that keep homes, businesses, and communities connected. From planned works to fault response, you'll be part of the team helping keep the power on across Northland.

You'll be:

  • Building, servicing, and maintaining overhead electrical lines up to 33kV
  • Installing and replacing poles, structures, and conductors
  • Operating plant and equipment
  • Completing field documentation and network records
  • Responding to faults and maintenance work
  • Delivering quality work safely and efficiently

About You

You're a qualified Line Mechanic who enjoys getting stuck in, takes pride in a job well done, and understands the importance of working safely.

You'll bring:

  • EWRB Registration as a Distribution Line Mechanic
  • Experience working on overhead electricity networks
  • A current NZ Driver Licence (Class 1 minimum)
  • Class 2 licence would be an advantage
  • A strong focus on safety and quality
  • A practical approach and solid work ethic
  • The fitness and capability required for a physically demanding role
