Nurse Helper

Summary

Assists the nursing staff in delivery of patient care according to BayCare role specific responsibilities and as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN). Assists with activities of daily living without purposefully encountering any body fluids (i.e. blood, urine, stool, saliva, emesis, etc.) or any devices that contain body fluids (such as but not limited to urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, drains, used basins, IV catheters, IV tubing, wounds, specimens, blood products, etc.). Performs patient transport assistance within the hospital, mobility assistance, sitter duties, and visual monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

Qualifications: Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Standard WELLE training is required. Must complete Nurse Helper training class prior to orientation on the nursing unit.
