Quality and Patient Experience Manager

The Quality and Patient Experience Manager leads quality, safety, risk, and patient experience across Allevia Hospitals, driving a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and patient-centred care.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer and working within Allevia’s clinical governance framework, you will provide expert advice, analysis, and reporting to governance committees and the Executive Leadership Team.
You will lead regulatory and legislative compliance, including Ngā Paerewa / Health and Disability Services Standards, the HDC Code of Rights, Privacy Act 2020, and relevant health legislation. You will also oversee quality and clinical governance systems, complaints, privacy matters, and the organisation’s response to HDC processes. Additionally you will serve as Allevia’s Privacy Officer.
This is a full-time, permanent position, based at Allevia Hospital Epsom, managing a team of three, working Monday to Friday, with a start date of mid-January 2027.

You Will Bring
- A relevant tertiary qualification in health, healthcare administration, quality management, public health, or a related field.
- At least 5 years’ healthcare experience in quality, safety, risk, and/or patient experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience leading organisation-wide improvement and change programmes.
- Experience developing patient engagement frameworks, policies, and cross-functional projects.
- Experience managing complaints, HDC responses, and privacy matters.
- Strong knowledge of health legislation, quality and compliance frameworks, risk management, Ngā Paerewa / HDSS, and HQSC frameworks.
- A clinical qualification and/or risk or governance qualification is desirable.
- Maturity, integrity, sound judgement, and a calm, measured approach, with the confidence to have difficult conversations and seek positive outcomes.
