Join our observability team, who are working on a comprehensive observability platform that supports our internal stream-lined teams to deliver modernisation banking services. In this role you will:
- Working with the application teams, cloud and on-prem teams to enable them build consistent observability capabilities.
- Provide expertise to the Development teams, the Product Owner, Security, and Architecture by helping to ensure technology and best practice frameworks are being used to achieve a great outcome for Kiwibank.

For this role we're looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer with strong observability expertise. We would love to hear from you if you have experience in the following:
- Extensive experience of working with observability particularly APM, Monitoring and Log Aggregation tools, preferably Dynatrace and SumoLogic/Splunk
- Experience in how best to align and integrate monitoring solutions for the best outcomes covering on premises platforms, networks, cloud through to APM specific views
- Experience in not just IT aligned observability, but how to educate teams and drive business observability with SLOs and SLIs around key customer outcomes
- Experience using scripting, IaC and CI/CD practices to reduce ClickOps and automate common actions
- Experience in integrations to help reduce mean time to recover
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
- Self sufficient in own work while being able to guide engineers toward self sufficiency
- Proven ability to help and motivate other team members in an Agile and/or DevOps environment
Good to have but not essential:
- Experience in software engineering and driving good practice
- Experience with integrating log aggregation platforms with SIEM / SOC requirements
- Experience with unit and component/integration testing, ideally utilising TDD techniques
- Proven ability to manage, lead and mentor other engineers in an Agile and/or DevOps environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
