About The Opportunity

Ready to take greater ownership of audit engagements and build your leadership experience? We’re recruiting a Senior Auditor for an opportunity within an Auckland accounting practice.

This role combines hands-on audit work, client interaction and supporting junior colleagues. You’ll work closely with senior team members to deliver quality engagements and help clients understand financial reporting and audit matters.

About The Role

You’ll manage the day-to-day delivery of audit assignments, keeping work on track and maintaining clear communication with clients and your team.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Planning and completing audit work, identifying key risks and designing appropriate audit procedures.
• Assessing financial statements, supporting records and internal processes.
• Preparing clear audit documentation and drawing conclusions supported by evidence.
• Coordinating audit files and monitoring progress against deadlines and budgets.
• Coaching junior team members and reviewing their work.
• Building client relationships and resolving queries throughout engagements.
• Identifying ways to improve audit processes and recognising where clients may need additional support.

About you

You bring external audit experience, sound technical knowledge and a practical approach to solving problems. You’re comfortable taking responsibility for your work and enjoy helping others develop.

You’ll Ideally Have

• At least two years of external audit experience within an accounting practice.
• A relevant degree and a CA or CPA qualification, or be nearing completion.
• A working knowledge of applicable financial reporting and auditing standards.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and professional judgement.
• Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience using audit software.
