Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of work, we are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead project delivery and support the ongoing development of the business.

Position Summary

Reporting to the COO, you will lead the successful delivery of multiple civil infrastructure projects across Canterbury, with a strong focus on Three Waters. You will oversee Project Managers, Engineers and site teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

This is a key leadership role where you'll drive project performance, develop and mentor your team, build strong client relationships and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the delivery of Three Waters and civil infrastructure projects
  • Managing project performance, resources and programme delivery
  • Overseeing budgets, forecasting and commercial outcomes
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders
  • Driving health, safety, quality and environmental performance
  • Mentoring and developing Project Managers, Engineers and site teams

EDUCATION

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years' experience within the civil construction industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing civil infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience leading multiple project teams and managing operational delivery.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, contracts, and project controls.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Drainage and stormwater infrastructure
  • Water and wastewater reticulation
  • Utility installation and services coordination
  • Civil works, Roading and pavement construction
  • Construction programming and resource planning
  • Contract administration and commercial management
  • Quality assurance systems and compliance requirements

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Commercially astute with strong financial management capability.
  • Effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve, work under pressure and manage priorities.
