Senior Civil Drafter

Archway Recruitment has partnered with CMP New Zealand to appoint an experienced Civil Designer or Drafter to support the growth of their Wellington-based water infrastructure team.

CMP Consulting Group is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy specialising in water, wastewater and infrastructure projects across New Zealand and Australia. Backed by the ASX-listed Vysarn Group, CMP offers the opportunity to work on high-profile water infrastructure projects across the Tasman.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role in delivering civil design and drafting solutions across a variety of water infrastructure projects, including water transfer pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants and associated assets.

Working alongside experienced engineers and drafters, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating high-quality design documentation from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support.

This is an opportunity to join a growing multidisciplinary team with exposure to projects across both New Zealand and Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil design drawings, models and technical documentation.
• Develop pipeline and drainage alignments, longitudinal sections and civil infrastructure layouts.
• Coordinate closely with civil, mechanical, process and electrical engineering teams.
• Review and check drafting deliverables to ensure quality and compliance.
• Manage drafting workloads, budgets and programme requirements.
• Support the delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients.
• Assist in delivering projects that meet programme, quality and client expectations.

About You

We are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate:

• 7+ years' experience in civil design drafting within infrastructure, industrial or resource- based projects.
• A Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil Design Drafting or a related discipline.
• Strong experience producing detailed civil design documentation.
• Experience with pipelines, drainage alignments, culverts, earthworks and associated civil infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Drafting and Design packages such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D & 12D is essential
• Strong understanding of New Zealand design standards and industry requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
