We are looking for an enthusiastic Permanent Full-Time Retail Assistant to join our Staff Café team at Middlemore Hospital. This role offers guaranteed 40 hours per week and is ideal for someone passionate about customer service, food preparation, and creating a welcoming café experience. Ko o Kawenga / Your Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service to café customers and hospital staff
• Prepare, present, and serve food to a high standard
• Produce quality barista-style coffee and hot beverages
• Operate cash handling and point-of-sale systems accurately
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
• Assist with general cleaning and day-to-day café operations

He Kōrero Mōu / About You

• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, café, or customer service environments preferred
• Food Safety Unit Standard 167 qualification or willingness to obtain it
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Friendly, reliable, and positive attitude with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
• Commitment to food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
