Robotics Software Engineering Intern

WHO WE ARE

SITUS automates laborious operations in supermarkets using robotics. We are an Auckland-based

startup developing the software and hardware to revolutionise retail.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're hiring a software engineering intern to develop and own core systems that enable our robots to operate in retail stores. This is an early, high-ownership builder role tackling complex challenges. You will be a fast learner, a rapid builder, and a passionate problem solver. This position is ideally full time, but we can work around your university schedule until you graduate if you are an exceptional final year student.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build on top of open-source VLAs and computer vision software.
• Use real world reinforcement learning.
• Develop a system for storing and managing orders.
• Develop GUIs and software for testing.
• Develop a store mapping system.
• Teleoperate the robot.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Strong Python skills.
• Experience with VLAs and RL.
• Experience working with hardware and software.
• A track record of shipping production-ready software, not just prototypes.
