Make a real difference by supporting people with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling lives!
You’ll support people with daily routines, independence, health and wellbeing, interests and goals, while helping them stay connected with their whānau and community. You’ll also play an important role in supporting individuals with behavioural needs, helping them manage overwhelming emotions, promote safety, and encourage positive behaviours.
As a Planned Leave Cover (PLC) Support Worker, you’ll enjoy variety and the opportunity to build a broad range of skills, working across different facilities to cover staff leave. While your roster and location will vary, you’ll have guaranteed hours each fortnight.

- A compassionate, people-first approach – you genuinely care about the wellbeing, dignity and individuality of the people you support.
- Relevant experience – previous experience in health, disability, community or support services, working with people with diverse needs.
- Behavioural support experience – experience supporting people with challenging behaviours is advantageous, with the ability to remain calm, patient and positive.
- Flexibility and availability – comfortable working a varied roster including morning, evening, weekend and sleepover shifts.
- Strong communication skills – confident communicating clearly and respectfully with the people you support, whānau and colleagues.
- Physical fitness – able to provide hands-on support and assist with physical tasks when required.
- A full NZ drivers licence – with no supervisor conditions.
