Mō Te Tūranga - About The Role

Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Ope Whakaora ki Royal Oak Community Ministries

We are looking for a Navigator to build relationships and engagement with people, supporting them to identify and respond to life challenges within our Community Ministries programme at The Salvation Army. You will enhance personal wellbeing through the promotion of collaboration, social change, development, and empowerment of people and families.

Key Tasks Will Be To

• Participant engagement and retention throughout the programme.
• Case management, including assessments, goal plans, reviews and recording in SAMIS.
• Supporting rangatahi into employment, education and training pathways.
• Achievement of employment and training outcomes.
• Provision of post-placement pastoral support.
• Building effective relationships with whānau, employers, training providers and community partners.
• Reporting, documentation and compliance requirements associated with the contract.

Mōu Ake - About You

Our ideal person will:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (minimum level 5) to social services or similar required.
• Experience of at least 2 years working in case-management, and delivery of holistic wrap-around support.
• Ability to understand and relate to people from diverse backgrounds, who are experiencing hardship, trauma, life challenges.
• Ability and commitment to engage and journey with people providing support for personal responsibility and motivation to achieve own goals.
• Ability to adapt approach to the needs and interest of the presenting people.
• A proactive solution focused approach using maturity and empathy in problem solving and reduction of barriers to achieving outcomes.
• Understanding of, respect for, and ability to work with The Salvation Army's mission, principles, and Christian ethos

Hours of work: Fixed term full time position Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

The starting salary for this role will be $71,326.52 - $80,150.46
