Join our growing Energy Networks & Renewables team in Christchurch as a Leading Hand - Electrical Substations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll supervise field crews while delivering the construction, installation, maintenance, and testing of HV and LV electrical substation equipment.

About The Role

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will:

Lead and mentor field crews on-site, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

Plan and coordinate daily work activities for larger projects and maintenance works.

Install, commission, maintain, and test HV/LV substation equipment.

Carry out fault finding, repairs, inspections, and equipment upgrades.

Manage worksite safety, risk assessments, permits, and quality documentation.

Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

What We're Looking For

NZ Registered Electrician (or eligible for registration).

Minimum 2+ years' experience in HV and/or LV electrical network work following apprenticeship.

Proven experience leading crews in construction, maintenance, or substation environments.

Strong knowledge of electrical safety, isolations, testing, and maintenance practices.

Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
