Guided by their Master Plan, the Horizon-ZQN programme will deliver a series of interconnected infrastructure upgrades and developments over the next decade, creating a safer, more resilient and sustainable airport for the local community, travellers and airline partners.
The Role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end procurement across major vertical and horizontal capital works, from strategy through to contract award and delivery. Expect a fast-paced environment running several projects at once, with plenty of variety day to day. As the programme progresses there’s genuine scope to grow your experience and responsibility alongside it.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement for high-value, complex vertical and horizontal construction projects
- Develop procurement strategies aligned to capital programme milestones and funding approvals
- Advise Programme and Project Managers on contract strategy, packaging and risk allocation
- Prepare, negotiate and establish contracts using the NZS construction contract suite
- Lead supplier negotiations for major infrastructure packages and secure commercially sound outcomes
- Support procurement across other areas of the business as needed
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Significant senior procurement or commercial experience, including substantial construction or infrastructure procurement essential
- Demonstrated expertise across both vertical (buildings, terminal facilities) and horizontal (civil, airfield, utilities) capital works
- Strong working knowledge of the NZS39xx construction contract suite and other relevant contract forms, particularly 3910 and 3916.
- Strong understanding of construction risk allocation and contract drafting principles
- Confidence operating at senior stakeholder and executive level
- Strong initiative, judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision
