Reservations Group Supervisor
Auckland | Permanent Full-time | Minimum 40 hours per week | $60,000 – $65,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced
Reservations Group Supervisor to join the Sales & Marketing team at one of Auckland’s largest and most established upper upscale hotels.
This is a key operational role responsible for overseeing the Group Reservations function and ensuring large and complex group bookings are managed accurately and efficiently from handover through to arrival and departure.
Working closely with Sales, Events, Revenue, Finance and hotel Operations, you will play an important role in ensuring group business is seamlessly delivered while maximising revenue opportunities for the hotel.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a minimum of 40 guaranteed hours per week. The role is primarily worked
Monday to Friday, with flexibility required to work the occasional weekend depending on business needs.
About The Role
As Reservations Group Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise the day-to-day Group Reservations function and provide guidance and support to the team
- Manage large and complex group bookings, room blocks and allocations
- Ensure group reservations, rooming lists, rates and booking details are entered and maintained accurately
- Proactively manage cut-off dates, wash factors, pickup and room allocations
- Complete group balancing, reconciliation and reporting accurately and on time
- Ensure the hotel's credit and payment procedures are followed
- Monitor group booking activity and identify potential issues before they impact the guest or client
- Work closely with Sales, Events, Revenue, Finance and Operations to ensure smooth delivery of group business
- Assist with training, onboarding and development of Group Reservations team members
- Maintain exceptional levels of communication with clients and internal stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to maximise revenue and cross-sell hotel services
About You
We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment where accuracy really matters.
To Be Considered For This Role, You Will Need
- At least one year experience working in hotel reservations, groups, events or related hospitality experience
- Experience managing large or complex group accommodation bookings in a large hotel environment, ideally 600+ rooms
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and perform effectively under pressure
- Confidence working with rates, payments, reconciliations and detailed booking information
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supervising, coaching or supporting other team members
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work across multiple hotel departments
- Qualifications in Business Management and experience with Shiji and Delphi systems advantageous
- A finance, accounting or revenue-related background would also be advantageous, due to the level of reconciliation, reporting, credit management and financial accuracy involved in this position.
