We are looking for enthusiastic Casual Kitchen Assistants to join our team at Middlemore Hospital. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours, with shifts offered as required to meet business needs. You'll play an important role supporting patient meal services and helping maintain a safe, clean and efficient kitchen environment while working alongside a friendly and supportive team.

Ko o Kawenga / Your Responsibilities

• Assist with patient meal tray assembly and food service delivery
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
• Wash dishes and kitchen equipment efficiently
• Support general kitchen cleaning and housekeeping duties
• Respond to requests in a professional and timely manner
• Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and hospital teams

He Kōrero Mōu / About You

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment is preferred
• Food Safety Certificate (Unit Standard 167) is advantageous
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Positive attitude with a reliable and hardworking approach
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
• Commitment to food safety, quality and workplace hygiene standards
