He Angitūtanga / The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our team at Auckland Hospital's main kitchen. This is a casual position, working on an as-and-when-required basis to support operational requirements and business needs. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, preparing quality meals that support patient wellbeing while being part of a supportive and professional team.
Ko o Kawenga / Your Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook patient meals in line with menu requirements and food safety standards
- Assemble and prepare ingredients, including dairy, produce, meat, seafood and poultry
- Portion and plate meals to required quality and presentation standards
- Maintain quality control throughout food preparation and service
- Complete end-of-service duties and support kitchen cleaning requirements
- Follow food safety, hygiene and Health & Safety procedures at all times
He Kōrero Mōu / About You
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment, ideally within healthcare or high-volume catering
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a busy environment
- Strong food preparation skills with a focus on quality and presentation
- Reliable, flexible and able to adapt to changing business needs
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Physically fit and committed to maintaining safe workplace practices'
