Wellington Mornings Producer, Newstalk ZB

Newstalk ZB is seeking a talented and driven Executive Producer to lead the production of Wellington Mornings with Nick Mills, our flagship talk programme in the Capital.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the daily conversation in Wellington, setting the talk agenda and managing all aspects of a dynamic, fast-paced live radio show.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Identifying and developing compelling news angles and topical issues
• Contributing creative and strategic ideas to drive robust discussion and audience engagement
• Managing the live production environment with precision and adaptability
• Supporting the host and wider team to deliver high-quality, thought-provoking content

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• Excellent news judgement and a strong editorial instinct
• A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure
• A creative mindset and a passion for current affairs
• A background in journalism (broadcasting experience is advantageous)
• A proactive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
• An ability to build and maintain a large contact book of the movers and shakers of Wellington
