We're Wētā Workshop. Home to an entire community of creative artisans who have brought life to films, tv series, immersive experiences, collectables ... and more.

We share our creativity to the world through offering tour experiences, creative workshops and events that provide visitors with an up-close insight into the craftsmanship that happens within our workshop every day.

At our Wētā Cave retail store guests can purchase props, merchandise and collectibles. The coolest thing about the items we sell? They are designed and made by the same artists who make the epic stuff you see in films

Hosts to join us for the busy summer season - with plenty of casual positions available.

Here's the deal

As the awesomely approachable face of Wētā Workshop, you'll be rubbing shoulders with the most passionate and dedicated fan base on the planet, as well as families, film fans and guests from all over the world.

You'll be delivering a unique guest experience like no other, inspiring and connecting our guests to our creativity.

We're looking for people who are energetic and charismatic, and have a love for creativity in all it's forms. You will be a confident communicator and know how to relate to a wide range of people.

Ideally, you'll have previous customer service experience, and a passion for our industry, too.

Our Wellington operation is open from 8.00am to 6.00pm, 7 days a week so we’re looking for people with good availability across the week and weekend.

The starting rate of pay for this role is $26.86/hour.

We will be interviewing for this role from mid-August to November, with fully-paid training sessions taking place at various times from September to December ... so even if you can't start til later in the year, we still want to hear from you NOW.

This is a role that involves informing, entertaining and inspiring people from all around the world - so while we know it can be nerve-wracking, it's the best way we can get a feel for your presentation style. (Plus, the questions we ask are fun, we promise!)

We then invite the people who we think have the experience and presentation style that suits our tours to a group interview.

They aren't your traditional interviews - you'll get to meet our crew leaders and present on a few topics in a group setting, so we can get a real understanding of how you might go hosting a tour.

We get great feedback from candidates saying they enjoy this a LOT more than a traditional interview.

If all goes well and we think you'd make a great host, then we do background checks (reference checks, Ministry of Justice check and visa checks if applicable)... and if all goes well then it's time to offer you the role!
