About The Role

We are looking for an experienced machine operator to run our CNC water jet profiling machines at our Hornby factory. We profile a wide range of engineering materials (metals, plastics, rubbers and foams) for components that are used in Fabrum’s own cryogenic products as well as producing parts for a diverse range of contract customers.

You will be working with a small, friendly team within our main CNC machine shop.

Ideal applicants will be operators with previous experience with either CNC water jet, plasma/laser or routing machines and ideally with a forklift licence and competent in the use of overhead cranes and lifting equipment. Experience with programming is desirable but not essential.

The Role

  • Machine Operation: Select and load raw materials/cutting media, set up machine and cutting files, run CNC water jet cutting machine cycles
  • Quality Control: Measure finished parts against technical drawings and blueprints. Complete in-process check sheets and work-order documentation
  • Dispatch: Prepare customers’ finished parts and paperwork ready for collection or shipping
  • Maintenance: Perform routine upkeep on nozzles, pumps, and high-pressure lines
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a high level of work area cleanliness
  • Safety: Follow company health and safety procedures for the safe operation of plant and equipment

Working Pattern

  • Day shift
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
