About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

You will be responsible for delivering high quality commercial property legal advice, including reviewing and drafting documents. Working closely with Partner, Rhys Williams, you will be part of a collaborative team that values your input. You will have many opportunities to work directly with clients including property developers, resident associations, and supermarket owners. Work will include but not be limited to:

  • Property and business acquisitions and disposals
  • Subdivisions and property development
  • Commercial leasing
  • Business finance
  • Commercial contracts
  • Franchising

This is a full-time role with flexibility in start and finish times to allow better work life balance.

What you will bring | Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu

Commercial property experience is essential for this position, but you do not need to have experience in all the areas listed above, as training will be provided. Gault Mitchell will consider varied legal backgrounds - for example, you could be in general practice, or in a specialist team elsewhere and want to make a change. You will also bring:

  • An intermediate or senior level of post-admission experience.
  • Be capable of producing high-quality, outside-the-box drafting.
  • Ability to independently manage assigned tasks and work well with others.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good academics.
  • Committed to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Eligibility to hold a NZ practising certificate.
