The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Architectural Technician to join the Christchurch studio in a permanent, full-time capacity. This role will suit an experienced technician who enjoys taking ownership of project delivery and thrives in a collaborative environment. Working closely with Architects, project teams, consultants, and clients, you will play a key role in producing high-quality technical documentation and ensuring projects are delivered successfully from design development through to construction.

You will be involved across a broad range of sectors and project scales, providing technical leadership while helping to maintain the high standards the practice is known for.

  • Producing high-quality technical documentation using Revit
  • Leading BIM coordination and documentation processes
  • Managing project delivery to achieve time, cost, and quality objectives
  • Coordinating consultants and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
  • Supporting project teams through all phases of design and construction
  • Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships

To Be Successful In This Position, You'll Bring

  • Relevant Architectural Technology qualification
  • A minimum of 6+ years' experience in a Senior Architectural Technician or similar technical delivery role
  • Advanced Revit and BIM capability
  • Strong technical documentation and detailing expertise
  • Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale projects through all project stages
  • Sound knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code, relevant standards, and industry regulations
  • Strong understanding of construction methodology and detailing
  • Experience coordinating consultants and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to mentor and support junior staff
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
