Te Tūranga | About the Role

As a Quality Assessor, you'll provide assurance to operational teams and site leadership that quality control and food safety programmes are being implemented effectively and are performing as required to meet customer, regulatory, food safety, and production requirements. You'll work closely with production teams, supervisors, and technical staff to support compliance, monitoring, verification activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Monitoring quality, food safety, and compliance programmes across site operations
  • Conducting verification activities and following up on compliance and audit findings
  • Completing product, environmental, and process monitoring requirements accurately and on time
  • Recording and reviewing temperature checks, microbiological sampling, and other quality measures
  • Identifying, escalating, and supporting resolution of quality and food safety issues
  • Assisting with the maintenance and ongoing effectiveness of HACCP systems
  • Supporting corrective and preventative actions to ensure food safety objectives are achieved
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with company and regulatory requirements
  • Providing technical and administrative support to the wider Technical Team
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and a positive team culture

Shift Pattern

Typically, there’s around 3 different shifts within the year. We have a 5:30am- 2:30pm, 7am – 4pm & 2pm-10:30pm this is a variable as we work within the production hours.

We're looking for someone who has a strong eye for detail, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining high standards.

You'll Bring

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Sound organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, and compliance systems
  • Understanding of HACCP principles and their practical application
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement
  • Confidence working with data, reporting, and record keeping requirements
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel
  • Ability to work collaboratively across operational and technical teams
  • Experience in quality assurance, food manufacturing, meat processing, food safety, or a related industry is highly advantageous

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you'll work closely with operational leaders, technical staff, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
