Skills Institute is looking for an experienced healthcare professional to join our close-knit team at our Dunedin campus as a Training Specialist – Healthcare in a permanent full-time capacity.
This is an exciting opportunity to share your industry knowledge, support learners to achieve their qualifications, and help shape the future healthcare workforce. We're looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, brings a positive, can-do attitude, and is passionate about creating a supportive learning environment for both learners and colleagues.
No extensive teaching experience? That's okay. If you have strong healthcare expertise and a passion for supporting others to succeed, we'll provide the support and professional development needed to help you thrive as an educator.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver engaging classroom and practical healthcare training using learner-centred teaching approaches.
- Support learners academically and provide guidance to help them achieve their study and career goals.
- Prepare, assess and moderate learning and assessment materials in line with programme requirements.
- Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate student records.
- Contribute to the development, review and continuous improvement of programme content and assessments.
- Support the success of a small team by contributing to programme delivery, continuous improvement, and shared goals.
What You'll Bring
- Healthcare qualification at Level 6 or above, supported by relevant industry experience.
- Passion for mentoring, teaching and helping others achieve their potential.
- Adult Tertiary Teaching qualification (Level 5), or willingness to work towards one with Skills Group's support.
- Hold Unit Standards 4098, 30421 and 11551, or be willing to obtain them through your professional development, we will support you with this.
- Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a collaborative approach and a willingness to pitch in and support your team members.
