As our Network Engineer Lead, you'll combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to guide network operations, influence technical direction and drive meaningful improvements through automation and AI. You'll work alongside talented engineers, product owners and technology leaders, helping solve complex challenges while creating better experiences for our people and customers. This is a permanent full-time role based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), Kaikōura (North Canterbury) or Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney).
Ngā Mahi Hei Whakatutuki Māu | What You'll Do
- Lead the technical direction of network services, helping shape roadmaps, architecture decisions and operational excellence across critical platforms.
- Drive automation and AI adoption to improve efficiency, reduce complexity and deliver more reliable outcomes for customers and teams.
- Champion the reliability, performance, security and resilience of network services through proactive management and continuous improvement.
- Partner with product owners, architects and stakeholders to align technology decisions with business priorities and future needs.
- Mentor and support network engineers, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of learning, collaboration and innovation.
- Identify and implement improvements across network operations, observability, monitoring and service delivery practices.

- Strong experience in enterprise network engineering, operations or infrastructure delivery environments.
- Expertise across core networking technologies such as routing, switching, wireless or load balancing.
- Experience guiding technical decisions and influencing architecture or roadmap planning.
- Practical knowledge and experience of automation tools such as Python, Ansible or Terraform.
- Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, with an interest in applying them to real problems.
- Ability to build trusted relationships across technical teams, vendors and stakeholders.
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and delivering great outcomes together.
