Position title: Vet Assistant & Yard Person

Veterinary Associates Equine – Karaka is seeking applicants for a part-time Vet Assistant/Yard Manager position.

This is an opportunity to work with our dedicated team of sixteen veterinarians, seven nurses, and four vet assistants in providing care to our hospital patients at the Vet Associates Equine Hospital in South Auckland.

The position is for shifts shared with other team members on Saturdays and Sundays and rostered ahead of time. In other words, the applicant needs to be available for work on Saturdays and Sundays and will generally work every other weekend and some public holidays.

Responsibilities will include mucking out and feeding hospital patients in addition to holding patients during procedures and assisting the veterinarians and nurses as needed. Experience working with horses is a requirement, and favourable applicants will have strong horse-handling skills, a willingness and ability to perform physical labour, and an enthusiastic and team-oriented attitude.
