Ventia is seeking an experienced National Workforce Development Manager to drive capability development across our Energy Networks & Renewables business.

About the Role

Reporting into the business, you'll lead the development and delivery of learning and workforce initiatives that support our people, operational requirements, and future workforce needs.

You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training programmes remain compliant, effective, and aligned with industry requirements, while helping to attract, develop, and retain the talent needed for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead learning and development initiatives nationally
  • Drive workforce capability and training strategies
  • Manage training partnerships and programmes
  • Support and mentor trainees
  • Contribute to workforce planning activities
  • Build relationships with industry and community partners
  • Identify capability gaps and development opportunities
  • Provide advice on industry and regulatory changes
  • Improve learning systems and processes

About You

You'll be passionate about developing people and creating opportunities for others to succeed. You're a strong relationship builder who can engage with a wide range of stakeholders and translate business needs into practical workforce solutions.

You'll bring

  • Experience in learning, training, or workforce development
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Experience working with Māori and Pasifika training organisations
  • Understanding of NZQA and the New Zealand training landscape
  • Experience within the electricity, infrastructure, trades, or related sectors
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong organisational, planning, and reporting capabilities
  • A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
