Senior Financial Analyst - Treasury

About the Role
This role is responsible for helping set and execute strategic direction to SBS liquidity risk, funding risk, interest rate risk and Treasury related counter-party credit risk.
What you’ll be busy with
- Calculating and reporting daily and weekly liquidity positions to the Head of Treasury and Financial Insights, CFO and Reserve Bank of New Zealand, ensuring minimum liquidity requirements, banking covenants and policy obligations are met.
- Monitoring, measuring and reporting on liquidity risk against approved policy limits and controls.
- Maintaining compliance with facility agreements, liquidity policy, banking covenants and RBNZ reporting requirements.
- Co-ordinating Asset and Liability Committee administration, including documentation and reporting that supports timely committee decision-making.
- Reporting interest rate and foreign exchange risk exposures in line with agreed reporting cycles, Board risk appetite and ALCO guidance.
- Undertaking capital and liquidity stress testing for review by the Head of Treasury and Financial Insights.
What you’ll bring
Essential
- Ability to understand how the wider economic and regulatory environment may impact an organisation
- Tying Treasury outputs to wider organisation goals and reporting
- Professional experience in the financial industry ideally in a corporate/bank treasury role
- Previous experience in relation to market risk management
- Ability to interpret and apply legal / regulatory standards to an organisation’s reporting (e.g. accounting standards)
- Possess a tertiary business degree preferably with an accounting, economics, finance or mathematics major
Preferred
- Experience with Treasury and/or Asset Liability Management systems
- Experience with regulatory compliance
- Advanced or post-graduate level financial studies, risk management or mathematics
- Professional membership to either Institute of Financial Professionals New Zealand or New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants
This role is full-time, 37.5 hours a week, 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
