Yardperson/Outdoor Timber Specialist

We're looking for a good Kiwi battler who is just as comfortable leaning on a farm gate talking all things rural as they are working in the yard and helping customers with their projects.

About the Role

We're looking for our next Outdoor Timber Specialist (Yard work, sales and customer service) to join our team at 1412 Omahu Road, Hastings.

This is a hands-on role where you'll:

• Prepare and load customer orders
• Operate forklifts and loaders (experience an advantage however, training can be provided)
• Unload trucks and put stock away
• Keep the yard safe, tidy and well presented
• Assist customers and help them find the right products for their projects

You'll be part of a small team, so a willingness to help wherever needed is essential.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.30pm, with Saturday mornings worked on a roster.

What we're looking for

You don't need previous timber industry experience. We can teach you that. What matters most is that you:

• Enjoy working with people and providing great customer service
• Have an interest in farming, rural communities or outdoor projects
• Are reliable, motivated and willing to learn
• Can safely undertake physical work and manual lifting
• Have a full driver's licence

Experience in customer service, farming, yard work, forklifts or machinery would be an advantage but is not essential.
