We are currently seeking an experienced Public Toilet Amenities & Cleaning Team member to join our dedicated Tauriko teams in maintaining and delivering high-quality amenities services on Downer contracted sites.
Please note this is a hands-on role involving the cleaning and maintenance of public amenities, including public toilets, parks, and the removal of illegally dumped roadside litter.

- Employee benefits including discounts and wellbeing support Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity As a Maintenance Service Person, you'll carry out a range of cleaning and maintenance activities across parks and reserves, including:
- Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of park facilities including toilets, BBQs, bins and park furniture to ensure a high standard of service
- Perform litter collection and upkeep of public areas to enhance the community's enjoyment
- Adhere to Safety, Quality, and Environmental (SQE) standards by managing activities for superior safety performance during daily operations
- Undertake hazard identification and document findings prior to starting work on site
- Be vigilant of the public in work areas and assess the appropriateness of activities to maintain public safety
- Liaise with clients and the public to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly This is a full-time permanent position working Tuesday to Saturday. The role involves travelling between multiple sites, working independently for much of the day, and participating in an on-call roster as required. You'll be trusted to manage your workload and deliver a high standard of service across the network. Nga Pūkenga Matu | Important Skills We're looking for someone who is dependable, safety-focused, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, cleaning, amenities, or similar outdoor roles
- Full Class 1 Driver Licence
- Class 2 Licence (advantageous)
- Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with the public
- Good literacy and basic technical skills to complete reports and use handheld devices
