As the organisation continues to evolve, they are seeking an experienced Company Accountant to play a pivotal role in the smooth operation of the business and support future growth.
The Role
This is a part time role, equating to c0.6 FTE
This is a varied and influential position that combines financial management, business operations, people leadership, and strategic support. Reporting directly to the Directors and operating as a key member of the management team, you will oversee the finance and administration functions while helping drive business improvement initiatives across the organisation.
You will be responsible for managing the company's financial systems and processes, supporting business planning and reporting, overseeing office operations, and ensuring effective administrative services across the business. In addition, you'll provide leadership to support staff, contribute to business strategy, assist with HR processes, and help maintain a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
This role offers significant variety and autonomy, making it ideal for someone who enjoys combining hands-on financial management with broader business leadership responsibilities.
This role best suits someone who is looking for the flexibility of working part time due to lifestyle preferences or duties, and is seeking a stable, part time role for the long term.
Role Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a Company Accountant, Finance Manager, or similar position
- Strong financial management and accounting experience within a professional services environment
- CA/CPA Designation or working towards it is highly advantageous.
- Experience managing invoicing, payroll, budgeting, reporting, and financial systems
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and HR administration practices
- Experience with accounting and payroll software such as Xero, MYOB, Deltek, or similar systems
Exposure to the engineering, construction, consulting, or project-based sectors would be highly advantageous.
