We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team!

This is an exciting opportunity to join our administration team at Mahaanui Kurataiao Ltd. Reporting to the Pou Whenua, you will have a unique opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality environmental and cultural outcomes by ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, helping to enrich the lives of current and future generations of Ngāi Tahu Whānui.

He Kōrero Mōu - About You

  • You have proven experience in administration or office support, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • You are able to listen and follow instructions clearly.
  • You have a good level of te reo Māori, or a strong commitment to developing your reo and applying it in a professional setting
  • You are proactive, adaptable and enjoy supporting a team to achieve shared goals
  • You are confident using Microsoft Office and other digital tools to manage information, schedules and communications
  • Proven relationship management skills
  • You’re a clear communicator, both written and verbal, and comfortable engaging with a wide range of people
  • An openness to embrace the values and aspirations of Ngāi Tahu whānui and interest to grow your cultural understanding in te ao Māori

Mō Mātou - About Us

Mahaanui Kurataiao Ltd supports the Rūnanga in achieving their objectives and aspirations for environmental management in their takiwā. This may involve the provision of environmental, cultural or strategic advice to local authorities, government agencies and private sector clients on behalf of Rūnanga. This advice may take the form of submissions and reports; or co-designing and co-drafting plans and strategies with regional and district councils and Government departments.

Mahaanui Kurataiao Ltd also provides advice and support directly to Rūnanga through the provision of research, investigation, briefings, advice and development of Position Statements. We also provide support to Papatipu Rūnanga in respect of their own projects.

Our advisory services are informed through engagement with Papatipu Rūnanga which is a core function of our activities.
