As the Senior Advisor Accountability, you will play a crucial role as the technical leader for performance within our organisation. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise-level planning and accountability activities, ensuring alignment with our strategic direction. This senior role requires you to provide evidence-based advice and support to the Commission while coordinating with project leads across various teams.

The salary for this role is $128,700 to $142,290.

Key Responsibilities

Develop the Commission's performance framework, planning, monitoring, and performance work programs. Facilitate cross-organizational understanding and contribution to external, Board, and leadership team planning and performance activities.
Develop critical accountability documents, such as the Statement of Intent, Performance Expectations, and Annual Reports. Maintain compliance calendars and support planning processes to meet statutory obligations.
Collaborate across the organisation to ensure high-quality and professional accountability documents.
Create briefing documents for Ministers, the Board, and our executive leadership team, providing evidence-based information to drive effective decision-making. Develop advisory papers on planning and performance, integrating them with strategy, risk, and other governance activities. Monitor and report on the performance of the Strategy, Governance, and Development function.
Contribute to team effectiveness, providing suggestions, feedback, and support to uplift team performance. Foster a positive and collaborative mindset, promoting the organisation's values. Resolve challenges proactively, demonstrate sound judgment, and provide backup support to team members when needed.
Commitment to Cultural Competency: Demonstrate a commitment to understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principles. Model leadership in the inclusion of Te Ao Māori perspectives into organizational policies, aligned with the Commission's Nga Maihi strategy.

You are a dynamic and results-driven professional with a deep understanding of government accountability processes and systems. With your experience producing accountability documents and developing performance frameworks, you possess the expertise to drive our organisation's planning and performance initiatives.
