Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

The Wireless Research Centre has an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Fellow to participate in a research project that advances next-generation AI-enabled networking systems. In this role you will undertake a research project centered on the intersection of networking and AI models.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills and written English, strong quantitative and data analysis skills, the ability to work creatively and independently, and a strong research background.

The successful applicants will be mentored by Fred Samandari Director of the Wireless Research Centre.

Mōu | Who You Are

To be successful in this position, ideally you will have:

A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field

Expert knowledge of deep learning, large language models (LLMs), computer networks/systems or wireless networks

Research experiences in at least one of the fields: wireless sensor networks, IoT networks, vehicular networks, cloud/edge computing, AI systems

A strong publication track record (publications at reputable IEEE/ACM conferences/journals)

Strong quantitative and data analysis skills

Experience with the preparation and delivery of quality oral presentations to a wide range of audiences

A proven ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts (both orally and in writing) to a wide variety of groups, including scientific and non-scientific audiences

The ability to work creatively and independently.

Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work With

You will work within the Wireless Research Centre, and work closely with the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. You will also collaborate with other academic staff such as in Maths & Stats, with postgraduate students, and external research and industry partners.

Appointable salary for a Postdoctoral Fellow will be $64,096 - $96,144 (p.a)
